Our prayer points, as of now, are as follows:
1 Pray for our school districts in Elbert County as school is now back in session. Pray for the health and encouragement of teachers and students alike in these times of restrictions related to COVID. Pray for all of our school board members (Welcome, Kim!). Pray that their hearts are open to God's leading as they all make decisions related to the education of our children. Pray that our children's education is effective, accurate, and that our children will learn pride in our nation as one founded under covenant with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
2. Pray for Elbert County Commissioners, Chris Richardson, Grant Thayer and Rick Pettit. Pray as they make decisions related to the governing of our county overall. Pray especially for:
a. Chris Richardson who is elected to serve as president of the Eastern District of Colorado Counties, Inc. Pray for his wisdom and discernment as he works with other eastern counties to determine the best course for our local county governments.
b. Pray also for the discussion recently brought up via a proposed regulation, that would disallow Commissioners in counties with under 100k people, to act as the County Board of Health. This was brought up by a LARGE county, and appears to have no science or practical reasoning behind it.
3. Pray for Sheriff Tim Norton and his entire team, for their safety and health. Pray for more people to apply for deputy sheriff positions. Pray for their investigations into auto theft, etc., wherein a stash of stolen vehicles and tools was found, after 1 year's investigation, but the thieves have not yet been found.
4. Pray for all other Elbert County officials, first responders, that they will seek the Lord in performing their duties.
5. Pray that the COVID new strain thought to have first been seen in CO in Simla, is kept in check. Pray for all Elbert County, Colorado and national citizens and residents, for their health, safety and protection, and that COVID is eradicated. Pray that, for those who want the vaccine, they are able to obtain it sooner than later.
5. Pray for our governor and Colorado General Assembly, especially our representative Richard Holtorff, for his safety, protection, wisdom, and open heart to follow the will of the Lord.
