Having read the Protecting America’s Waterways assignment, I looked at the list of 158 Rivers in Colorado and 5,564 streams (at last count) and then I asked the Lord for strategy! The Continental Divide was highlighted to me. So I have adapted two lists of rivers and tributaries from Wikipedia and other sources, using the Continental Divide as a baseline.

I spent 3-4 years on assignment praying over the Continental Divide. I have gone from the Canadian border to the Mexico border driving and praying over as much of the Divide as I could. It seemed important to Holy Spirit that I made many “Crossings” of the Divide — I’ve done hundreds. The last crossing I was to make was in 2022 in West Yellowstone Park. There was signage at the top of the Continental Divide and it revealed a “heart” as the road “double arched” through the pass. It was like a kiss from the Lord! I have seen angels and dispatched others onto the peaks of the Divide. I believe they have trumpets and torches like in Judges 7:20. So this knowledge and experience is what the Spirit drew on…

The first list starts at the Pacific Ocean and of course ends at various headwaters near the Continental Divide on the West side. The second starts at the Atlantic Ocean and shows the rivers and tributaries that flow down from the Continental Divide on the East side.

There are 17 Colorado rivers (these are highlighted in red and numbered) that have drainage basins with more than 10,000 square kilometers of water volume. (3 X size of Rhode Island!). It seems if at least these major rivers could be visited by intercessors, that then all the tributaries would be covered, as well. At this time of year, it is near impossible to make it to the headwaters, but I believe we will be able to access the rivers in our region.
