Here is an example of the email I sent to our Sheriff:
Hello Sheriff Norton,
My name is Mary Powell, and I am the prayer leader for the Elbert County - Cover the County monthly prayer call under the umbrella of Colorado Prays. (https://www.coprays.org/groups)
Our calls are on the third Thursday of each month, 7 am to 8 am. I am contacting you to find out what specific needs you have for your Sheriff's Department and the county in general, for us to hold up in prayer in our next call on October 15.
You are also, of course, invited to actually join the prayer call! You can click on the "JOIN" button at the website above, next to the Elbert County group.
I hope to hear from you with specific prayers - but I recognize you are very busy. Please know that, regardless of hearing back from you with specific requests, we will hold you and your department up in our prayers, for protection, safety, peace, and the continued ability to effectively protect Elbert County.

He replied same day, asking for us to pray for their health and that they would be able to hire enough deputies to allow them to handle calls for Elbert County Citizens. I thanked him, told him we would hold this in prayer, and thanked him for all he does for our county.
