What are the Courts of Heaven?
The bible has many references to legal terms and courts.
Daniel 7: 9-10 says “I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels a burning fire; a fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousands stood before Him. The court was seated and the books were opened.
Ps 82: 1 God stands up to open heaven’s court. He pronounces judgment on the judges.
Zech 3: 6-7 The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: 7 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
Those who have studied and taught on the Courts of Heaven, list many different Heavenly Courts with different purposes. The most basic is the Throne of Grace.

Why Petition the Courts of Heaven?
· You may have a matter of injustice to present to God (as Judge) seeking justice to be rendered.
· You or someone you love may be in need of healing.
· Are there circumstances in your life where you desperately need change?
Testimony
Len was suffering with bad knees. Injections no longer helped. The doctors said the only solution was knee replacement surgery for both knees. We had been reading Robert Henderson’s book on operating in the courts. Laying in bed one morning in enough pain that he did not want to get out of bed, he took his pain to the Courts of Heaven. He repented for all of the things he had done over the years to damage his knees both voluntarily and involuntarily (including military assignments). He asked the Lord for mercy and healing. After a time of interaction with Jesus and God as Supreme Judge, Len found that the pain was gone. He has had no significant knee pain for over 4 years now.
How to operate in the Courts of Heaven
1. Function in prophetic gifts: Hear, sense, see words of knowledge and the Voice of God
2. Know Your Position – Seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
3. Be Obedient
4. Be prepared to repent and forgive unconditionally
5. Know that Jesus is your chief intercessor/lawyer/Mediator
6. Take the time to prepare your heavenly court case just as a earthly lawyer would research and prepare for a court case.
Courtroom Protocol
Preparation
· Repent of any related sins or bloodline iniquities – need to be clean and holy
· Ask permission to enter the appropriate court where the Judge (God) would have you present this case
· Enter in humility and respect for the Judge
· Praise and Worship as the court assembles
· Wait as the court assembles – invite the Voices of the Court
o Ask Jesus to be the Advocate
o Stand when the Judge enters
· Ask for the Book/Scroll for the person or region to be brought forth and opened.
May require worship, tithe, intercession and/or lamentation
Present the Case – Let’s reason together
Be sure that the arguments grant the Judge legal right to fulfill His passion and the desired verdict.
Declare the purpose - Seeking a verdict on behalf of (person, issue or region) where the Adversary is resisting God’s purposes on earth.
Repent for issues that affect the case – listen for anything brought forth by the Adversary and quickly agree and repent - For God’s glory - for His reputation on earth Gen 18: 25-26
Specify the details of the case – quote appropriate scripture
Present the legal precedent(s)
Invite the Voices to add supporting evidence - Listen to the voices of the court
Ask for a verdict against the Accuser/Adversary
Prophecy the Truth about the person, issue or region - declare fulfillment of God’s destiny and purpose as written in the Book/Scroll
Ask for detailed restitution/restoration – Justice to be implemented
Listen as the voices add arguments
Wait for the verdict to be rendered
Praise God and give thanks for the verdict – Thank the Judge, Jesus and the Voices of the Court
Execution of The Court Order
Ask that the verdict and court ordered restitution be written in the Book/Scroll and in the Court of Scribes
Release the angelic hosts to execute the court ordered restitution/restoration/destiny/purpose
Respectfully stand and wait until the Judge leaves the Courtroom
