Bringing Biblical Instruction to Public School Students During School Hours
My name is Carol Lucero and I have been a member of the CO Prays Adams County prayer team for the past two years. Amy Everett was kind enough to invite me to join this team.
About the same time I joined the Adams County prayer team I learned of LifeWise Academy, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to legally bring Bible education to public school students during school hours. https://lifewise.org/
This is a God inspired idea for such a time as this. Currently LifeWise Academy programs are schedule to go live for over 1000 public schools in 34 states at the start of the 2025/2026 school year.
Here in CO the first LifeWise Academy Program launched February 2025 at East Middle School in Aurora with more Aurora schools going live in the coming school year. The first time I heard of LifeWise Academy it stirred my heart with hope for our children. Here was a way to be proactive instead of reactive. After praying about LifeWise, two months ago the Lord directed me to join a steering committee to help launch LifeWise for two elementary schools in the Brighton, CO 27J school district. We are hopeful to be going live by October 2025.
Note that individuals from several Colorado counties have also formed steering committees and are in the process of getting LifeWise Academy programs implemented in their districts as well. You may want to see if there is a committee in your district.
Lastly, please pray that LifeWise spreads like wildfire in Colorado, for open hearts and open doors, provision and laborers (Directors, teachers, volunteers and funds) as we bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Colorado public school students one district at a time.
