April COPrays Morgan County Prayer Call
Monday, April 7
On the call today: DJ Barrett, Walter Barrett
1 Chronicles 28:20 Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
Heavenly Father, we thank you for always being with us, and for giving us the encouragement to build up your temple the church. May we always seek your wisdom and guidance as we together work for your glory and honor.
Lord God, we see how the seasons are changing, bring the warmth of spring and the promise of new growth. Be with the farmers and ranchers as they welcome new life with the calves, lambs, kids (goats), chicks, and piglets. As we see land being cultivated and the green shoots of wheat appearing, we ask for gentle moisture and warm sunshine to encourage the young sprouts. Let the farmers find their equipment in working condition and ready to take on the new growing season. May they have adequate finances to cover their expenses. Grant them peace in their homes and families.
We lift up first responders of Morgan County. We ask that you would be with all those called in the middle of an emergency. Give them wisdom to know how to deal with these situations. Keep them safe, as well as the ones they're helping. Keep the flight for life helicopters safe and in the air. Keep your hand on them on each run as they fly their patients to help. Let all these brave men and women feel your protection around them and keep them strong in mind, body and spirit.
Father, we lift up our schools to you. We ask that more and more teachers and paras come to saving knowledge of you, and they would be emboldened to follow your laws, even in the face of opposition. We ask for protection of our children's minds and hearts in a twisted and confusing world. May more and more children and youth feel drawn to you through youth groups and Sunday schools. Let us not forsake the little ones in this wicked world.
May our churches be up to the task of bringing prodigals back home. As hearts turn toward church this Easter, we pray a connection will be made with the "twice-a-year" attendees. Let them feel encouraged, and give them a true hunger for a solid connection with you. Let every congregation in Morgan County welcome these wanderers without judgement or condemnation. Let there be love and open arms.
We ask, Lord, you would work in our local, state, and national government bodies. Your word is under so much attack from the enemy, but we know ultimately You will win. In the meantime, however, we pray 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. In the manner of Daniel 9:4-19, we confess all the ways we, your people, have missed the mark. Please forgive us, strengthen and encourage us, and start a wave of boldness to carry your word to our families, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us You "have not given us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
We thank you, Lord, for the healing you brought to Donna's husband Bill during his hospitalization. As he is released, please continue to heal and strengthen him, and let both Bill and Donna feel your caring presence as they give you honor and glory. We rejoice with them in this.
Lord, to you be all glory, honor and praise! Amen.
