06-01-26 COPrays Morgan County Prayer Call Notes
On the call today: DJ Barrett, Lyn Deal, Donna Reyman, Pat Shriver, and Kathy Zwetzig
We open our call today honoring You, our Lord. Holy Spirit, we ask You to guide our prayers today.
Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV The words of Jesus. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Lord, we ask for Your Peace as we navigate this life. We know this world is not our home, but we stand as Your followers seeking Your guidance.
Government
We thank You President Trump set aside a rededication to You on May 17th. We thank You for the proclamations throughout Colorado for our 150th celebration. We praise You for the scheduled 250-year celebration on July 4th. Lord, protect all the celebrations during this year. May Your Holy Name be praised!
We pray for the protection of President Trump, his administration and his family.
Morgan County House District 63 representative, Dusty Johnson’s sponsored bill, SB26-147, was vetoed by Governor Polis on Friday. The bill, if signed by the Governor, would change registration obligations and reporting rules for lobbyists. There was no indication from the Governor of this intent. The bill was sponsored by two Democrats and two Republications.
Thank you to Representative Dusty Johnson and to Senator Byron Pelton for their work at the Capitol this legislative season.
Elections
The passage of Amendment 79 in 2024 prohibited any state or local government regulation from denying, impeding or discriminating against the right to abortion access in Colorado. It is now in the Colorado Constitution. Only stripping Amendment 79 from the constitution would make that possible. Now, petitions to appeal this Amendment are being circulated. Lord, open the doors in churches and elsewhere to get the required signatures. This is a fight for the unborn!
Prayers for the elections through this Fall. Lord, we ask You to bring the turnout for the Christians and conservatives in this election cycle at all levels. Open the eyes and ears for people to see what is happening in our land and prick their hearts to show up to vote.
Lord, we ask for Your guidance in the election of Colorado’s next governor. We ask for a leader who is compelled to do what is right in Your eyes. We ask for other leaders to be elected who follow You.
Business
Lord, we ask for Your help to end the lockout of the Cargill plant in Ft. Morgan. Morgan County is very reliant on this employer and its contribution to the economy and the community. We ask for calm heads and hearts.
Our farmers and ranchers need Your help, Lord. Help them to make good decisions and navigate the difficult environment. Thank You, Lord, for the recent rains. Send more just at the right time.
Families and Children
Children are out of school for the summer. Bless the churches and their summer Bible programs. Bless the Christian camps. May Kingdom seeds be planted during these events. Bring forth the volunteers and the donations to make these programs possible. Many have been brought to the Lord as children through these efforts. Thank You, Lord.
First Responders
From COPrays.org “We pray that every First Responder now dedicates each shift fully to God's service and to those they serve, with the Holy Spirit as their source and guide in all they do” Lord, we ask for the people to participate with the first responders in any way to help. May the people say something if they see something.
Our Jewish Brothers and Sisters
We are compelled to pray for our Jewish brothers and sisters. Our Lord Jesus was a Jew. We come against the spirit of antisemitism in Jesus’ Name! This same spirit comes against Christians, too. Open their eyes, Lord, to what is wrong. Surround Israel and our country with Your protections.
God’s Mercy
God’s timing is amazing. Providence. We praise You, Lord, as You are a God of order and timing. Ask big so God can show His power! We ask for Holy Boldness to confront evil and to share Your Word and the Gospel.
Lord, we ask for Your healing for all of us, our families, and all within the reach of this email. Psalm 103:2-3 NIV “Praise the Lord, oh, my soul, and forget not all His benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” We remember the Cross! I Peter 2:24. NKJV “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on a tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness---by whose stripes you were healed.” Amen.
