12-4-23 Morgan County Prayer call notes

On the call today: Lyn Deal, Pat Shriver, and Donna Reyman

Praise! The Majesty of the Lord ---Reading Psalm 93

We invite You, Holy Spirit, into our presence. We are thankful for Your guidance in our lives and in our prayers. Jesus has the reigns today. He drives our wagons and our chariots. We honor You today, Lord!

Lord, we pray for our children in schools today. Thank You, Lord, for the many ways You have protected our youth and their schools, answering so many prayers. Lord, we come to You in repentance and sorrow for the removal of You and Your Bible teachings from our schools many years ago. We now have the consequences to deal with. We ask for Your forgiveness, Lord. We welcome and ask for Your revival and spiritual awakening to ignite and spread across all of Morgan County and Colorado schools. Lord, we pray that the Gospel would be boldly proclaimed and received in every Morgan County and Colorado school and university in Jesus’ Name!

Lord, we give thanks for the parents who have raised their children knowing Your and Your Word. Heavenly Father, in Jesus Name and the power of the Holy Spirit, we give thanks for Your creation of marriage between a man and woman; let the covenant of marriage stand strong regardless of any laws on the books of Colorado. We pray that the image of God now be lifted up through husbands and wives across Colorado as they model God’s love.

We declare, Lord God, that You are faithful and on Your throne over Morgan County and the State of Colorado with the government on Your shoulders. Thank you, Jesus! Father, we ask the root of bitterness be removed from people so they may see Your truth. Luke 3:9 NKJV the words of Jesus “And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” Lord, we ask for Your spirit of humility to come forth from our politicians. Let them cast down their pride and plot a different path that You have selected for them and their jurisdictions. Lord, for those politicians seeking Your face who believe and follow the path that Jesus walks, give them the courage and strength to say the words and do the actions of Jesus.

We ask, Lord, that You release Your comfort to Israel and the Jewish people. (Is 40:1) We pray that believers worldwide take the opportunity to reach out to comfort Jewish people in tangible ways. Father God, we ask You, in Your lovingkindness and mercy, to bring comfort, hope and deep abiding Shalom to the victims of the war – the hostages, their families, wounded soldiers, friends, and families. Heal their hearts, Lord God. We pray for those who are lost in the darkness of Islam and that the power of Hamas (violence) would be broken. We pray that You, Lord God, would continue to send dreams and visions of the God Who Sees, as You did to Hagar in the wilderness. (Gen 16:13) Draw each one to a full understanding of Jesus as their Savior and Redeemer

Personal prayer requests from those on the call.

Lyn: Prayers for her as she finishes her term as mayor of Ft. Morgan at the end of December. Lord, we ask You to give her wisdom and strength. She has a heart for Ft. Morgan and desires only the best for the city. Give her the words to say to bring about reconciliation but also to bring truth into every situation.

We pray for the new mayor effective January 1, 2024, Kevin Lindell. Lyn will be sharing all pertinent items and documentation with him, Lord, show Kevin Your path forward for Ft. Morgan.

Lyn asks for prayer for Nick and Teresa Holland whose house was destroyed by a fire.

Pat: Pat’s husband, Michael, goes in for back surgery on December 22nd. Lord, be with the doctors, nurses, and technicians involved in this procedure. We ask for no infection in Jesus’ Name. Lord, give Michael Your peace about the surgery. Be with Pat and her daughter as they will be Michael’s caregivers. Thank you, Lord.

Donna: Prayer requested for her husband, Bill, and his health. Lord, be with her daughter, Gina, in her work situation.

Lord, we pray for the people in Morgan County and Colorado. We ask You to redeem the time. Let us enjoy the simple. Let us hold onto things loosely as we always look to You. Let us trust You, a daily battle we fight because our old nature is always there. We ask for belief in Jesus. Galatians 1:4 NLT “Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.”

May the Christmas season be full of the joy our Savior brought to us by His birth, His life, and His work on the Cross. Amen.
