Where I've been...
It's been some time since a prayer request has been posted to this group. There is indeed a reason for this gap. Just give me a moment of your time, and this shall be explained.
Around the beginning of the year, there were changes to my vision. My eyes little by little began becoming more sensitive to light. There was a pretty severe sinus infection that developed, and that caused dryness in my eyes, so the assumption was this was little more than dry eye irritation.
There were efforts made to treat my dry eyes, and there were definitely improvements made to my vision. However, in my prayer time, I received the message that this was a spiritual attack happening on my vision.
By April, my vision was actually doing quite well. However, after First Fruits (part of Passover, representing the Resurrection of Yahshua), my vision began a steep decline. So, finally I went to the eye doctor, and the diagnosis shocked me. Cataracts had developed in my eyes so severe that they couldn't even see my retinas.
The timing of this was interesting, because after First Fruits begins the Feast of Weeks. This is where we begin the counting of Sabbaths leading to Pentecost (Shavuot). Pentecost means 50, so we count seven Sabbaths, then the very next day is Pentecost. It is during this time that Yahshua reveals to Peter, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” (Luke 22: 31-34).
My vision began to degrade and decline further. The realization is the only way cataracts would develop at my age was if I was diabetic. This caught me by surprise, because over the past 12 months prior, I had lost over 90 pounds and was getting about 1.5 to 2.5 hours of physical activity daily.
The Ophthalmologist I was referred to was highly recommended, but the surgery would not be until July 17, over two months past the original diagnosis! I was believing The Almighty for a healing, perhaps even by Pentecost.
Anyways, the first thing to do was to fix my body. All refined sugars and processed foods were removed from my diet. My diet switched to strict intermittent fasting eating just one meal a day (OMAD) for about a month, with several prolonged fasts added in. Since then, my diet now consists of two meals a day.
As Pentecost neared, I was believing God for a miracle, ideally a healing. The thought of waiting so long to regain my vision was out of the question. Well, something did happen. The Thursday before Pentecost, the eye clinic called. The surgery on my left eye has been moved up! Instead of July 17th, it would now be June 25th. My right eye would be on July 9th. My surgeries were moved up nearly a month!
All there was to do was wait. With my vision gone, so went all the distractions. The Almighty had my full attention. He took the time to really work on me. There had been an assignment that he had given me, but I had given up on. Something that I had put a great deal of work on, but it had never produced any fruit. There is software he has been wanting me to develop, and he showed me the flaws in my design.
He had shown me that I was trying to develop this solo, but He wants to be in the lead. He has to be part of the process. So, when my vision was to return, there were changes to be made, especially in my life.
The 25th of June came, and the surgery went far better than I could have expected. Not only could I see again in my left eye, the new lens was actually better than the natural lens it replaced. The healing went well, and the same result for my right eye.
Not only was my vision restored, but I had received a vision upgrade! Both eyes are now doing really well, and the healing has been fast.
In August, I'll see my primary physician for blood work and see where my A1C is at. However, I have lost over 20 more pounds since the cataract diagnosis. So, I'm believing for a complete and total reversal of any insulin resistance moving forward.

God bless you James! It is awesome to hear about God’s answer to all of the prayers for you and your eyesight. I am so excited for this next season for you with the Lord. And, welcome back to leading the prayers for Colorado Prays prayer leaders statewide! We have missed you and your powerful prayer covering.
