Good morning everyone!
I thought I would post a few of the ideas that we discussed at our meeting the other day.
1, Wendi shared how her connections with conservative groups has helped build her prayer network. One of those is a group in Mesa County called "Stand for the Constitution". In an internet search, it appears that there is a group in Grand Junction too. I didn't find other areas, BUT we could all probably find conservative groups to connect with, and if they have a Christian bent to them, so much the better. We can find them and get involved as an intercessor for the group, and hopefully recruit other members as intercessors a well.
2. Wendi also said how some of her groups do prayer walks around schools.
3. She also suggested that we attend county commissioner meetings, school board meetings, state legislature meetings, etc., AND participate in the PUBLIC COMMENTS time. There is usually about a 3 minute limit, but this is a good way to declare the Lord's grace and glory over an issue, which will then become public record. This type of effort has often, over time, shown to shift the atmosphere over an area.
RELATED to #3 above, our coprays.org/events, under Capital Prayer Team, is an effort headed up by an Estes Park church to get prayer coverage DIRECTLY at the Capitol building during the upcoming 120 day legislative session. That is, Jan 12 - May 11. You can sign up for a date to pray at the Capitol. Right now, many cities are listed as the point cities/counties to pray for each day. If cities in your county aren't listed, let Amy know, so she can let them know to update.
Please be in prayer if you are called to go to the Capitol to pray one day, OR at least to be a coordinator for your county to get a group of people to go and pray on a specific date. The idea is go to into committee meetings, legislative sessions, or whatever is going on during a given day, and have a person in there praying. This doesn't have to be praying out loud, which may not be possible, BUT to just bring the SPIRIT OF THE LORD over those proceedings in order to bring about godly results.
Have a blessed day, and may this season when we celebrate the birth of Christ fill us with joy and PRAISE to our Father God, Savior Jesus and Holy Spirit for their plan to bring us back into relationship with our LORD!
